“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.” Napoleon Hill
Good morning peeps, meditation done.
Quote for the Day:
“Don’t wait. The time will never be just right.”
I think one of the lessons I have learnt this year with the deaths of so many of my inspirational icons, is that life is too short and there is no time for waiting.
I have probably been guilty of waiting for everything to be perfect, before doing some of the things I have planned to do in the past.
The time will never be just right, the time to do things is now, there is no time to wait, because in a flash the moment will be gone. Never has the saying, “Here today, gone tomorrow” been so true as in 2016.
Yesterday I spent the day planning the future, but at the same time remembering the past.
I have begun really thinking through my goals for the year ahead. My main goals for 2017 came to me easily I want to raise the finances and open my first luxury lifestyle and fitness club, do up my mum’s house, set up home with my partner, visit my God child in Verbier, finish my latest book ‘My Journey’, fully recover from my injury and take my yoga to the next level.
I sat down and drew the plans for the new kitchen, sitting area and extension I am designing for my mum’s house. I want to create the perfect space for my mum to enjoy the magnificent view she has of the sea, woods and snow capped mountains and also the ideal place for me to come to relax, recuperate, and recharge my batteries whilst writing and researching for my passion in life.
I listened to the music and watched the videos of George Michael, whilst I was drawing, designing and planning. I stopped and watched clips of Debbie Reynolds dancing, singing and acting with Gene Kelly in one of my favourite films of all time ‘Singing in the rain’.
Strangely the clip that moved me the most was the video of ‘If I told you that’ a duet in 2000 by Whitney Houston and George Michael. The song first appeared on Whitney’s 1998 multi-Platinum ‘My Love Is Your Love’ album, where she sang it solo. George Michael’s vocals were later recorded and added to the song when it was being included on Whitney’s greatest hits package. While Whitney performed the song in concert, the two never collaborated on a live version. George never performed the song live at any of his concerts.
So the video of the two singing and performing together is a rare one off chance to see two beautiful and incredibly talented, but at the same time very troubled artists and souls, thoroughly enjoying what they love to do most, performing, together. Their vocals, talent, beauty, energy and vibe together comes shining through the screen and gave me goose bumps, brought a smile to my face and a tear to my eye, a cocktail of emotions all mixed together at the same time.
Afterwards I was exhilarated, but sad simultaneously as I thought to myself how sad it was that they were both gone from this planet at such a young age and what a shame that they and the world never got a chance to hear and see them sing and perform together live. Alongside Michael Jackson and Prince they are my favourite singers and gave me so many memories and so much inspiration when I was growing up in the case of MJ and most of my adult life for the others and Michael.
They are all gone far too soon and it has really hit home for me the need to do things now, there is no time to wait or waste. I am feeling very inspired and hungry to achieve everything I want to achieve, right now, starting today and not waiting for the New Year.
After I have finished writing I am itching to get on my yoga mat and start working deeper into my practice as my body heals and gets stronger everyday.
