Once you have set your goals, you have a path to follow. That path may mean you have to follow it up a hill, and at times it will feel difficult and you will feel like you can’t go on. But if you take one step at a time, you will eventually get to the top of the hill and reach that goal, and the feeling and sense of achievement when you have reached your goal will make you ecstatic.
To achieve your dreams, your goals, you will have some decisions to make. It may seem difficult at the time, but really the decision is quite simple; do I want to achieve my goal or not?
Will the choice of not going to the gym, having another glass of wine, putting it off to another day or having another piece of chocolate cake, take me one step closer, or one step further away from my dream, my goal?
These choices are yours, and yours alone. I am just giving you the tools to help you make an informed decision for your body and your life.
When it is cold and dark in the morning I find it much harder to get up. When my alarm has been going off at 4:30am in the morning recently I have been feeling a huge urge to turn it off and go back to sleep, but I don’t I get up and go to the bathroom passing my bedroom door, which has all my printed goals posted on it, plus a design for an extension for the side of the house that I have drawn up.
My goals are the first thing I see each morning and straight away, I am motivated and know why I have to get up and do everything I am doing.
I then begin my day with my meditation, my writing, read through the Three Things I Aim to Achieve that day and then it is time to get on my yoga mat.
That is the beginning of my daily ritual and from then on everything I do is either taking me a step nearer or a step further away from my goals.
Practicing yoga everyday for 10 years has really helped me in all aspects of my life.
The more I exercise and practice the stronger my breathing becomes and the more control of it I have.
The yoga poses and breathing teach me that if I control my breath I can control my mind. The pain and discomfort I feel in the awkward yoga poses, will go away if I breathe and stay calm. This mirrors situations in life which can seem impossible with no way out, but if you stay calm, focused and breathe then your head clears, the situation does not seem as bad as you first thought and you can see a way forward.
Yoga has taught me to focus my mind, lose my fear of failure and not be distracted by outdoor forces and things that I cannot control.
This is the basis of my Elysium Way Training System.
The Elysium Way enhances and enriches lives allowing you to reach your full potential physically, mentally and spiritually.
