“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.” – Confucius
Good morning peeps, meditation done.
Quote for the Day:
“Life is really simple, but we insist on making it complicated.”
When we were children life was much simpler you had a set time you went to bed, a time you woke up to go to school. A set lunch time with little choice over what you ate, you came home from school, played with your friends, did your home work had your supper then it was time for bed.
In the school holidays in the winter I played football all day in Adastra park and in the summer I played cricket all day until Pricey’s mum or my Grandma came to the park entrance and shouted at us that it was time to come home for supper. The only thing I thought about all day was football or cricket and I was either going to be a footballer or cricketer when I grew up.
The trouble is the older we get the more complicated life gets. You start having to make decisions and have lots of choices. What subjects are you going to take for your exams? Are you going to go to college or leave school and go to work? Which college are you going to go to? What are you going to study? Are you going to go to university? Are you going to take a gap year? Which University are you going to go to? Where are you going to live? What job are you going to do?
Along with all these decisions you begin to have more choices over what you can have to eat and drink plus what time you go to bed and go to sleep. Throw in the other sex and choosing a girlfriend or boyfriend and life begins to get really complicated. At this point parental approval and peer pressure also rears it’s ugly head, which can really complicate things and lead to unhappiness, through doing things to please other people.
Having to make more decisions provides us with the opportunity to make more good and bad decisions and it is the decisions we make in life, which can make our life simpler or more complicated.
If you choose to make unhealthy eating, drinking and sleeping decisions this will lead to complications in your life through bad health, which will increase, as you get older. You may get away with these decisions when you are younger, but when you get to the age of forty these unwise lifestyle choices are going to cause you serious health issues that can lead to heart disease, diabetes and cancer and ultimately death.
So it is really important that you make the right choices when deciding what you put into your body in the form of food and drink.
Making the wrong choices in your job and your partner, will lead to financial strain and emotional stress and stress is the biggest cause of ill health of all. So making the right choices in these areas of your life are equally as important to your health. Having said that I fully appreciate that making the right choices in your job and your partner is much more complicated than the relatively simple choices of eating the right food, drinking sensibly and going to bed at the correct time.
Life is all about choices; so choose wisely, it is up to you if you want a simple, stress free life or a complicated one with all the stress and ill health that comes with it.
Have a tremendous Tuesday peeps
