”You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” – C. S. Lewis
Good morning , meditation done.
Quote for the Day:
“You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.”
C. S. Lewis
Yesterday was a fabulous day, even though it was extremely exhausting and I thought to myself as I headed back to London on the train from Bristol I really am living the dream. I am based up in the Highlands at the moment and come down to London on the last week of every month, giving me the perfect balance of city and country life.
Having left my house in Cromarty at 6:20pm on Tuesday evening to get the bus to Inverness in time to catch the 8:44pm sleeper train to London I arrived in Euston at 07:47am yesterday morning went to the Ibis Hotel to get showered, suited and booted and then met award winning architect Brent Richards at the Paddington Hilton to have a breakfast meeting and then board the 10am train to Bristol.
When we arrived at Bristol Temple Mead we met physiotherapist Saira Rehman the owner of Resolve Physiotherapy Clinic in Sutton Coldfield at 11:44am and then we all drove together to arrive at our meeting in Bristol at noon. The meeting in Bristol could not have gone better and we are all very excited to be working together on such an exciting project and my dream of opening my own luxury lifestyle club is one step closer.
After our meeting we caught up with my digital director James Lucas who met Brent for the first time and we talked all things digital including the club website and brand colours before catching the 6pm train back to London where I had dinner and a glass of wine with my friend Simon Tomsett, before crashing fairly early, shattered but very content.
Today I am up an hour and a half before my alarm goes off at 4:30am as I am buzzing with excitement. I am off to Zetter Townhouse in Clerkenwell to attempt a bit of yoga and then I have another full on day of meetings at Club Zetter including a big one with my building team Brent, Brian Monroe of Love Build , equipment suppliers Ian Daniell of Core Health and Fitness and Quantity Surveyor Steve Wheatley of Riley Consulting, before meeting up with my best mate Jason Thorp after work to have a couple of beers to wet the head of his baby daughter Florence Rose before catching the 9:15pm sleeper train back up to Inverness to get back to Cromarty at 10am tomorrow morning and be back out walking the dogs on the beach 15 minutes later with a mug of tea in my hand perfect.
If you fancy joining me for a spot of 45 minutes gentle yoga this morning at 8am please do it’s absolutely free, just come in some loose clothing, mats are provided to Zetter Townhouse, 49-50 St John’s Square, London EC1V 4JJ nearest tube Farringdon.
I find practicing yoga everyday really helps me in all in all aspects of my life.
The more I practice the stronger my breathing becomes and the more control of it I have and the calmer I have become.
The yoga poses and breathing teach me that if I control my breath I can control my mind. The pain and discomfort I feel in the awkward yoga poses, will go away if I breathe and stay calm. This mirrors situations in life which can seem impossible with no way out, but if you stay calm, focused and breathe then your head clears, the situation does not seem as bad as you first thought and you can see a way forward.
Yoga has taught me to focus my mind and not be distracted by outdoor forces and things that I cannot control.
I have also learnt that I cannot do all the poses or asana, but this is not failure, the point of yoga is not to be able to do all the poses, it is the daily process of trying to achieve them that is important. Because as soon as you have mastered a difficult pose, you will come across another one that you will feel is impossible, when you first start, but if you practice every day it will become a little bit easier as you improve every day.
This is the basis of my Elysium Way Training System.
The Elysium Way enhances and enriches lives allowing you to reach your full potential physically, mentally and spiritually.
And one of the main components of the Elysium Way is practicing yoga.
