“Walking takes longer… than any other known form of locomotion except crawling. Thus it stretches time and prolongs life. Life is already too short to waste on speed.” – Edward Abbey
Good morning peeps, meditation done.
Quote for the Day:
“Walking takes longer… than any other known form of locomotion except crawling. Thus it stretches time and prolongs life. Life is already too short to waste on speed.”
Wow yesterday was a monumental day, which will go down in history as a day of massive change.
First Brexit and now with the election of Donald Trump a man with no experience in politics or the military, the people have shown that they are fed up with the establishment and are ready for change.
Only time will tell whether this change will be positive?
On top of all this I had a very painful day at the doctors, where I discovered that in addition to my hip flexor and Gluteus Maximus injury, which is causing Sciatica, the cyst I recently had removed had become infected and I also discovered that one of my toes was dislocated or broken.
Obviously all of the above make walking one of my favourite pastimes especially with my two dogs Zeus and Zorro pretty difficult at the present moment.
My walking is now very slow so inevitably takes longer and for the moment I cannot walk too far otherwise my hip flexor and glutes stiffen up which aggravates my Sciatica.
But Zeus and Zorro still need walking and for my mental and physical wellbeing it is still very important for me to walk everyday, albeit not very far for the present time.
We are blessed that our house is on the beach with a stunning view of snow capped hills and mountains in the distance.
From opening the front door it takes less than twenty paces to step onto the beach. And if you turn left you walk away from the village as we are the last house in the village and you literally walk away from civilisation and will not pass another human or house for miles.
Zeus and Zorro fly around playing chase with each other and to see them in motion running, twisting, turning and jumping at full speed is a beautiful sight to behold which provides me with endless joy.
I cam literally feel my mind clear of all burden and worry, with each step I take and when I return to the house I feel reinvigorate and enter back into the warmth of the kitchen with a smile on my face and not a care in the world.
If you would like to replicate this exhilarating feeling by walking with beautiful scenery in albeit a much warmer climate and improve all aspects of your life, by learning more about yoga, breathing and meditation, why not join me on my very first yoga retreat in Morocco at the five – star luxurious Mazagan Beach and Golf Resort from the 10th to 17th of December.
